While building the University Link light rail expansion, contractors unearthed parts of the city’s very first infrastructure. The items found 38 feet beneath Pine Street included a piece of the neighborhood’s 19th century boardwalk, along with newspaper clippings, a child’s cup, and a box filled with 31 pairs of shoes — which just goes to show you never know what you might come across as a Seattle Contractor.
